...talking about guerilla/gorilla

KOKO

Do you know about the Gorilla who took her own photograph and made front cover of the National Geographic in 1978.
[ I was eight years old]

Gorilla Foundation co-founder, vice president and photo-documentarian Dr. Ronald Cohn initially showed Koko how to use a camera with a tripod for the National Geographic article about Project Koko in 1978 and she snapped her refelction in the mirror.
[for the source & other incredible magazine covers that made history]

What does this cover imply... all primates show potential to be good photographers!

  1. Okay, I think maybe it is true when they say, "anyone can take a photograph because during our lecture with Joey Rampersad(Lecturer: Theory and Applied photography) he advised and warned us(students) not to let someone else press the shutter button because the minute they do that, that picture is theirs it doesn't matter if you did all of the settings but the one who Pressed the shutter button is the owner of the image. So in this photograph I can think that is what happened, someone else did the settings. But then someone else would argue saying No, not anyone, not every monkey. The reason for that statement would be inspired by Ansel Adams' quote which says- "You don't take a photograph, you make it." (found on: www.photoquotes.com) and in this picture I do not think KOKO can be able to make a photograph. But it still remains a debate...
