Jaws_when my tooth wasn't missing

I asked Sabelo aka Bushman to please email me this image [when he still had all his teeth]. I love the expression on Sabelo and the woman's faces_ I wonder what the woman was saying that made Sabelo laugh.

Any ideas?

I asked SABELO to email the story behind the photograph. He had this to say:
"SISI Liza. These images were shot in Msinga in KwaZulu Natal, we were coming from some department which had won an award from the premiers office. on our way back to dbn we noticed these women on the right side of the road, they were sitting and chatting like they were waiting for a car to pick them up. we stop and ask if we can take pictures with them. At first they were uncomfortable but they said its fine Baba Mafezwe posed first, Nceba.... then you know, its was my turn: They started screaming ooooh my Gosh, what a handsome guy...lol joking... these women did NOT want to be touched because they were scared of Umuti.... hope you enjoy. Cheerz sisi liza (mam'ncane)".

Go Patriotic with Picnik_ despite the warning...

Use "picnik" and turn yourself into a patriotic junkie!
The Mac Dictionary warns the use of the word patriotic...
It says [and I find this amusing]:

"Patriotic and unpatriotic are words that carry so much emotional baggage that they should be used only after considerable reflection. A patriot loves his homeland and is willing to defend it against enemies. But these days patriotic often implies a blustery, unthinking, my country-right-or-wrong nationalism. As people used to say in the 1960s, the word has been co-opted and has become a crude means of provoking an almost Pavlovian twitch response. For example, if you don't agree with whatever the United States undertakes, especially in foreign affairs or military operations, you may be vilified as unpatriotic, i.e., cowardly, unworthy of being an American, and possibly traitorous. Yet turn around and the flag-wavingly patriotic are pitied as little more than dupes of the government or victims of jingoistic brainwashing. Furthering the confusion, every extremist cadre in the world employs the rhetoric of patriotism to recruit its members and maintain their allegiance. Thus, to some a patriot suggests a crude and belligerent fanatic, while to others he is a loyal-to-the-death defender of his country's traditions and values. Whatever the case, patriotic and unpatriotic are always fighting words, and usually bullying ones too."

Despite the warning ...go patriotic with piknic

Congratulations Werner
...
for winning the best picture in the Readers Pix section of the Pix magazine_ June/July 2010 edition. Werner won a Tamrac bag.
The image was shot with a Nikon D40X at 20mm, f/8, 1/60, ISO 400 for his Applied2 portfolio brief titled "Body Art".

Werner had this to say. He sent this BLURB from his cell phone @ 1.56pm:

" When I get projects, I always try to be different. And instead of art on a body, I chose to make art with bodies. My initial inspiration came from a photographer called Philippe Halsman. He captured an image called Dali and the Skull, 1951, in which he formed a skull with 7 female models. After rethinking the idea and considering realistic outcomes, I followed the advice of my lovely mom who said just follow your heart. So I based my design and layout quite literally on a heart. After sketches, planning and a tight budget, this wonderful image was the final result."
Look who I had breakfast with these holidays... curator Nathi Gumede from the DUT Art Gallery. Nathi has had such a fantastic response to the Exhibition "COORDINATES", that he has extended its showing till the 13 July. If anyone would still like to see the exhibition, take friends or family, please call me on my cell or Nathi at the Gallery 031-3732207, to make arrangements.

Did you know that this exhibition is part of the Arts and Heritage Bus route. This is a bus tour that "hops" from Gallery to Gallery
and it is free!
