SAME thing DIFFERENT place DIFFERENT time
What I love about these types of projects and events is the following:
  • working with a group of like minded individuals in an inspiring environment
  • sharing and getting to know each other better
  • moving outside the classroom_ exploring places in and around Durban
  • being informed of places, spaces and those who inhabit/claim them
  • gaining knowledge_ ones seeing and looking is directed within discussions and discourses
  • make an artistic statement_voice ones mind and vision freely
  • divulging in candid photography_being spontaneous and intuitive
  • having fun
  • being poetic_allows creative freedom to express and experiment
  • individualistic opinions, thoughts and ways of seeing are evident as many look at the same thing differently
  • networking and collaborating with other creative individuals
  • showcasing these observations in the form of an exhibition curated by individuals in spaces in and around Durban
  • selling photographs_gaining professionalism by learning to hang/ frame/cost and market photos and self
  • expose photographs and self on the web_ FaceBook and Web Albums
  • promotes the Photography Department
Please make comments about how you as a student can learn from these events... do a search on "Guerrilla Gardening'' to find all the posts linked to this one.

Guerrila Gardening Exhibition Opening

Tamlyn Martin_Organiser/Curator
The exhibition "Guerrilla Gardening" opened last night @ BeanBag. The works submitted by the photography students looked amazing and were intergrated with artworks by 4 Graffitti Artists . Some of the works already sold last night.
Tamlyn's policy is that when someone buys the work they pay for it and take it home with them immediately. One may then fill the empty space with another photograph or reprint and hang a duplicate.
Well done and a BIG thank you to those who framed and photographed for this event.
